I found the documentary to be bias. it mainly focused on the fact that the copyright corporations were not letting people use things that aren't other peoples things to use . i mean sure the copyright corporations are a little over zealous about protecting their music, but isn't it a little unfair to be making a documentary on it? a documentary that sounds like a little child who's angry because their friend wont share his favorite toy. they certainly do make some good points but the reality of iall of this is, that it's completely fair to say that what the copyright corporations are doing isn't unjustified and selfish , but is actually fair.
girl talk is bias because they are more straight forward on their opinion about how copyright is bad. they are regular people who use samples of someone else's music to make their own , while making a profit off of what isnt theirs to begin with. the copywriters feel it is theirs and theirs only. When the comic writer used mickey mouse as a drug dealing Mexican, i can definitely see why Disney would be angry, they are using their most famous character as a joke and that makes them look bad. then to argue that it should be okay to use there patented ideas on comics is bias.
I think that remixes are okay and that the laws are far to strict about using samples and edits. they are trying to take conroll of something that they can not. people do not care for the risk of fines, they care about their music. it is a struggle with remixers and copyright corporations, a struggle that will not go away anytime soon. people will continue to make remixes and as they do that , remixing will become more and more popular among people. in the future remixes will be more accepted and thats something that copyright corporations and publishers are going to have to accept.
